Does anyone know of a free drug rehab center in Alabama or one of it's surrounding states?

One of my friends are addicted to heroin in Alabama and have finally decided it's time to get help. The only problem is that he can not get on the insurance or money to get into a rehab clinic. There is a free rehab in Birmingham, but they have a long waiting list. He needs help now, not next week or next month! He was very depressed and suicidal. He says it's easier to just stay on heroin! Can anyone recommend a rehab clinic in Alabama, or who does it for free, or maybe a couple hundred dollars? Yes, you can check at local hospitals and community centers.
